Welcome to Buckeye Furnace State Park

Part of Ohio's Hanging Rock Iron Region

Buckeye Furnace is a reconstructed charcoal fired furnace that made "pig iron" from 1852-1894 and resides on 270 beautiful acres. You can tour all the buildings and learn how pig iron was made and its importance in the Civil War. The museum is stocked with antiques that were used during that time and the gift shop has unique items made by local artisans. The park is open every day year-round during daylight hours. The museum and gift shop is open from the beginning of May until the end of October on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 12-4pm.

The park is located at 123 Buckeye Park Road, Wellston, OH. For more information please go to Buckeye Furnace State Park or call 740.384.3537.
